Fees and Insurance
Insurance:
I am considered an out-of-network provider. This means I do not accept insurance, and the fee is due at the time of service. You are welcome to use your FSA and HSA accounts to pay for services, and if you have out-of-network benefits, you may be eligible for reimbursement by your insurance company.
Out of network benefits:
Clients looking for a hands-off approach to navigating the insurance reimbursement process are welcome to use a service called Mentaya, which submits claims on clients' behalf and sends them the reimbursement funds. Mentaya charges 5% of the session fee per claim. I receive no financial incentive or benefit whether clients use Mentaya or not - it's purely offered for client convenience.
If you'd prefer to submit the claims on your own and avoid the 5% fee, I provide you with superbills (essentially a receipt of services), which you submit to your insurance company. Your final out-of-pocket cost depends on your specific insurance plan, and Iām happy to help you understand how reimbursement works.
Here are some questions to ask when talking with your insurance company about your out-of-network benefits:
Do I have mental health/behavioral health benefits?
What is the reimbursement rate for out-of-network providers for outpatient mental health services?
Do I need pre-approval or a referral?
How many sessions per calendar year will my plan cover?
What is my out-of-network deductible?
Is telehealth covered by my plan?
Are there any diagnoses or procedure codes (CPT codes) that are NOT reimbursable? (For couples therapy, common CPT codes are 90847 and 90846; for individual therapy, ask about 90837 and 90834.)
Fees:
My fee is $175 for individuals and $200 for a 55-minute couples session. 90 minute couples sessions are available at a $300/session rate.
I know that choosing to invest in therapy is a significant decision, and I consider it a privilege to be part of that process. The work I do for my clients extends far beyond our sessions and includes ongoing education and trainings, consultation, thoughtful preparation, and staying current with research and clinical best practices. I am committed to continually growing as a therapist so I can offer you the most effective care possible and support you in creating meaningful, lasting change.
Cancellations:
You are welcome to reschedule your sessions with me as needed, but please remember to cancel or reschedule at least 24 hours in advance. You will be responsible for a $100 fee if a cancellation is less than 24 hours prior to session. I will make every effort I can to fill your spot and if another client takes it, then there is no fee.
